When you are poor, you cannot be average, because that would require purchasing power. A single parent, poor and overweight, lives the Finnish dream by becoming as ordinary as possible. A dull and conventional story takes the viewer on a journey to the wonderful world of grey everyday life. Will there be a sausage-flavoured paradise beyond the wall of mist?
Eat Dirt begins in a large manufacturing hall, where the main character is working in a governmental support employment program. She gets assigned to a compulsory weight loss reality TV show, where the participant is forced to participate in a grave digging diet.
In exhibition space, the work can be viewed from tablet that has been connected to a shopping cart.
